Despite Covid-19 disruption, Marston’s has agreed a number of deals over the last year.
In May it unveiled a new joint venture partnership with Carlsberg UK to create a £780 million beer brewing giant. In December it said contracts had been exchanged with Brains to operate its portfolio of 156 pubs in Wales, safeguarding a number 1300 jobs.
Marston’s said the proposal represents a 19% discount to the firm’s share price at the start of 2020, pre-Covid 19. It added that since that time the it inked the Carlsberg deal, “which realised significant value on completion and is anticipated to continue to do so as the benefits of the joint venture are realised”.
The pub operator said the Brains transaction is expected to be accretive to earnings in the first full year of trading.
