I will give you just one forecast however from this study. It is that UK shares will produce an average return over the next five and more years of 8% or more. The case — long-term — for equities over bonds looks overwhelming.
My own takeaway from these forecasts is that the world economy should carry on growing, despite inevitable periodic reverses.
If that is right, we will look back on the past decade, with its boom, slump and slow recovery, as an odd one.
More normal conditions will return, indeed are returning. Savers will be rewarded; well-run companies will do well; countries whose economies grow will share the fruits of that growth.
