On the buses, roadworks in the capital have also caused the company problems and led to lower numbers of passengers.
Go-Ahead has had a target of making an operating profit of £100 million on buses, but this ambition has been pushed out for another year, because of disruption to routes in London, Brighton and Oxford.
The company’s buses in the North East are also still suffering from a struggling local economy.
Go-Ahead’s dividend rises by 6.5% to 90p but the shares fell 5.4% to 2400p.
