The Footsie rose a healthy 1.8% to an August high of 6161.32, with British Airways owner IAG a notable riser, up 6% to 213p and miner Polymetal, which has been on an incredible run this year, the biggest faller, off 3% at 1955.61p.

Technology investor Blue Star Capital today said its Dynasty eSports arm had raised around £1.7 million to invest in its esports management platform. The AIM-listed investor, which took part in the fundraiser, spent £225,000 to maintain its 13% stake in Dynasty, which is valued at £10 million. Dynasty creates content and data on the industry for tournament organisers and federations to use. The shares fell 11% to 0.2p valuing the firm at £8 million.
