Football Manager firm transfers from Shoreditch to Stratford

The software developer behind the hit Football Manager series is the latest tech firm to swap Shoreditch for Stratford.

Sports Interactive, which has been putting gamers in the dugout for 25 years with its management simulation games, is to move its 125 staff from Old Street to the Here East tech hub on the Queen Elizabeth Park.

Interactive, which is owned by Japanese video games giant Sega, is to take up its space in the former Olympic Broadcasting Centre with companies including BT Sports, Ladbrokes Coral and innovation centre Plexal.

Designer fashion site Matchesfashion.com — whose husband and wife founders recently banked £400 million from a private equity sale — have also moved part of their operation to Here East.

The raft of new tenants in the area — soon to include several thousand HMRC staff — have been attracted by low rents and much improved transport links after the Olympics.
