EasyJet to sell long-haul for other airlines

EasyJet opened up a new front in the battle for passengers with Ryanair on Wednesday, by offering the chance to book long-haul flights through its website.

EasyJet passengers will be able to book connecting flights to North and South America and to Singapore through its website.

Canadian carrier WestJet and Norwegian airlines will work with easyJet, which will also begin to sell standalone tickets on behalf of other airlines.

All connections are made through Gatwick Airport and need to be at least two and a half hours after the easyJet flight lands. The airline insisted the connection service would not affect punctuality and that flights would not wait for connecting passengers.

Talks are also under way with Middle and Far Eastern airlines.
