China attacks Britain for "dumping" Huawei and warns investment in the UK will suffer after Boris Johnson's U-turn

China today warned Britain that Chinese investment would fall as a result of yesterday's decision to rip Huawei kit out of the UK telecoms infrastructure.

Ambassador Liu Xiaoming said: "The way you are treating Huawei is being followed very closely by other Chinese businesses, and it will be very difficult for other businesses to have the confidence to have more investment."

Britain had, he said "simply dumped this company."

He was speaking after Prime Minister Boris Johnson performed what was seen as a U-turn on a decision not to ban Huawei from UK telecoms equipment and said that, back in China, the UK was now seen as being the "cat's paw" of America, meaning it was subservient to the US.
