CBI chief Carolyn Fairbairn told The Times recent messages “are signs that the door is being closed, to an extent, on the open economy”.
The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s director of policy, Sean McKee, added: “Rather than some strange move to put blame and burden on Britain’s businesses, Ms Rudd and her colleagues in government might want to set about an ambitious programme of actually training and equipping young Britons to do the jobs that our EU friends and neighbours currently do.”
