French media giant Vivendi was today set to part ways with chief executive Jean-Bernard Lévy.

The departure comes amid shareholder demands to break up the company, which owns the world’s biggest record label, Universal Music and games firm Activision Blizzard.

Chairman Jean-René Fourtou has complained that the conglomerate’s shares are trading at a 40% discount to the value of the separate assets.
