Regent Street is the only shopping area in London to count US shoppers in its top five highest-spending nationalities.

Regent Street tops the West End and the UK in growth in visits from overseas shoppers, according to a survey by tax-free spending expert Global Blue commissioned by the Crown, which owns the street in a joint venture with Norway’s sovereign wealth fund Norges Bank Investment Management.

Visit Britain reported 2.8 million Americans visited the UK last year, spending £2.5 billion.
