Following the controversy of English Heritage trying to prevent its construction, British Land today started work on Swiss bank UBS's new building at 5 Broadgate in the City.
Part of the Broadgate Estate, 5 Broadgate, is being developed by joint-venture partners British Land and Blackstone.
The 12-storey 700,000-square-foot building will be
ready by 2014.
