In the past, WeWork would have been rejected by landlords as unsuitable. Now, says Neumann, they want it as an anchor, they’re keen for the buzz a WeWork provides — not just during usual working hours but late into the night and at weekends (WeWorks are open 24/7).
He won’t say too much about it but he’s talking to the owners of Canary Wharf about setting up there.
Given his repeated references to changing how people work and live, the next step, surely, is to create homes around a WeWork, to go for the whole lifestyle.
I could envisage a WeWork at Canary Wharf, for example, with apartments alongside, breathing life into the place at night and at weekends.
